About
Hello there, I'm Ben Lacy. I'm a husband/designer/developer/programmer/whatever living in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have a passion for creating beautiful, easy-to-use websites. I primarily work in PHP, ASP, and ASP.NET(C#), but I'm constantly researching and trying out new technologies. One can never have too many tools in the toolbox.
I absolutely love the process of creating a website, from concept to completion. Along the way, I strive to comply with modern Web Standards, and write the most efficient code possible.
Now, a little about this site. I'm the kind of guy who likes to know all the behind-the-scenes details, so I'll divulge about as much as I can about the hows and whys behind the site: I created the site on Windows and Ubuntu Linux. For the graphics, I used Adobe Photoshop for the heavy lifting and Adobe Fireworks for the actual layout and slicing. All the code was written in E, a TextMate-like editor for Windows. The blog was built with WordPress, and the rest was built using the CodeIgniter PHP framework (which rocks, by the way). Finishing it off is a MySQL database, which I manage with SQLyog. The whole shebang is hosted at Media Temple, whom I also highly recommend. Enjoy.
